Clubs entered
Over the years there has been a large representation of Victorian clubs that have entered this prestigous event - and in the recent decade a growth in interstate clubs making the journey to the Yarra River too. In 2004 we had our first international entries. This list also provides an indication of the active clubs at the time (in Victoria at least), and provides some history for those clubs which have now disaffiliated, folded or merged.
Club colours also reveals some history to colour and trim changes that have occured over time, and reveals those long lost club colours of clubs now folded.... here is an example from the 1962 Head of the Yarra program.

The following is a list of clubs that have entered the Head of the Yarra - * denotes only ever competed in a composite crew (in some cases not all clubs in a composite crew are known). Strike through indicates club (may have) scratched all crews in that year. Bold indicates winning of at least one race category in that year.
Please note some records missing for 1957, 1963, 1968 and 1982-84, 1987-1989, 1992, 1994, 1997.
No records available for 1971 - 1981, 1985, (except fastest crew).
