Please note helped required to find all past records - especially 1970's. We also wish to get photos of all official HOY T-Shirts. Please let us know if you can help.

Please note some records missing for 1957, 1963, 1968 and 1982-84, 1987-1989, 1992, 1994, 1997. No records available for 1971 - 1981, 1985, (except fastest crew).

2008 will see the 50th staging of Head of the Yarra - Saturday 29th November 2008.

Race Pack &
Briefing

Race Pack Collection

Someone from each crew (ideally the coxswain) needs to collect their race pack including crew numbers, race instructions, crew grid positions & location of on course safety / support boats and emergency contacts from the Race Registrar.

This is also where you need to notify of any crew / coxswain name changes (up to one hour prior to race start time).

Please bring $20 number deposit for each crew. Refunds will be made upon return of number at Hawthorn finish.

All crew numbers including those worn by the cox and bow are to be returned to the Register located in front of Hawthorn Rowing Club on completion of the race. Please only send one member of the crew (ideally the coxswain) to do this.

Competitors Briefing Session

A competitor's briefing will be held – ideal for coxswains and strokes of crews to learn about the might of the course, and also to alert crews on any last minute obstructions or concerns!

A short presentation session is timed for 30 minutes including questions. It will include a) steering tips b) how to avoid a collision c) how to best untangle if a collision occurs and d) passing rules. Attendees will need to bring a writing implement to takes notes. Any last minute alerts will also be conveyed.
