Please note helped required to find all past records - especially 1970's. We also wish to get photos of all official HOY T-Shirts. Please let us know if you can help.

Please note some records missing for 1957, 1963, 1968 and 1982-84, 1987-1989, 1992, 1994, 1997. No records available for 1971 - 1981, 1985, (except fastest crew).

  • Clubs will also be emailed the details
  • Corrections will be accepted until 5pm Thurs 20 Nov
Friday 21November 6pm Final Draw published on website  
Wedensday 26 November 6pm Request for boat trailer access in the city on race day
Friday 28 November Time TBC Collection of race packs from Hawthorn Rowing Club
  • $20 deposit per crew required for race number
  • Programs, T-Shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase
Friday 28 November TBC Competitors briefing
  • Held at Hawthorn Rowing Club
Friday 28 November by 7pm Removal of boat trailers from finish line area up to Creswick Street
  • No boat trailers are permitted to remain in the finish line / HRC precinct after this time
  • Creswick Street will be closed and blocked off to non regatta traffic. This requirement particularly applies to clubs boating from the finish line area at Hawthorn.
Friday 28 November 8pm - 6am (29/11) Boat security will be provided around the start line area
We in no way guarantee the overnight safety of your boats and equipment. A single guard will be on duty.
It would be of assistance if visitors could provide a contact mobile number to be conveyed to the security guard. Similarly, a contact number for the security guard will be provided to you.
RACE DAY
Saturday 25 November
5am onwards Finish line area closed to all traffic  
  6.30am onwards Boat trailer access in city
  • Access for pre-arranged Club Boat Trailers will be permitted between these times only. This is a strict requirement by Melbourne City Council. (See Wed 26 Nov)
  TBC onwards Collection of race packs from Race Registrar set up outside Mercantile Rowing Club (city)
  • $20 deposit per crew required for race number
  • Those that have not collected race packs on Friday night need to report to the Race Registrar to collect their pack
  TBC River closure
  • All crews must be downstream and behind the start line before the river is closed (pertinent for those rowing their boat from further upstream to the race)
  TBC Carnivale at finish line precinct
  • Food, drink and merchandise booths open at finish line
  • Food, drinks, merchandise and programs are on sale at the finish line until 30 min after the conclusion of presentations.
  12 noon Race commences
  • First of the 200 crews start at Henley Staging Judges Box
  • Course is 8.6km upstream to Bridge Rd Hawthorn. Bicycle Tracks to the north & South of the River carry spectators & on-lookers
  12.30pm First crews expected to cross finish line  
  TBC Last crews (men's and women's Open) expected to complete course  
  TBC Presentation of winners and trophies and announcement of “Head of the Yarra”
  • Yarra Bank Reserve (off Creswick St ) Hawthorn
  TBC HOY Dinner at The Bridge Hotel, Richmond
