The timeline for the 2010 event is below. The 2011 timeline will be provided once the draw is completed.

Tuesday 16 November 6pm Provisional Draw published on website
  • Clubs will also be emailed the details
  • Corrections will be accepted until 5pm Thurs 18 Nov
Wednesday 17 November 6.30pm Meeting at Hawthorn Rowing Club re race draw
  • All interested parties are invited to meet with us at Hawthorn Rowing Club to provide feedback and make submissions in relation to the provisional draw.
  • Late entries will not be accepted at this meeting
Friday 19 November 6pm Final Draw published on website
  • No crew changes will be acepted from this point that change the race category of the crew
  • Corrections will be accepted until 5pm Thurs 18 Nov
Wedensday 24 November 6pm Request for boat trailer access in the city on race day
Friday 26 November 6pm - 8pm Collection of race packs from Hawthorn Rowing Club
  • $20 deposit per crew required for race number
  • Programs, T-Shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase
Friday 26 November 6pm Competitors briefing
  • Held at Hawthorn Rowing Club
Friday 26 November by 7pm Removal of boat trailers from finish line area up to Creswick Street
  • No boat trailers are permitted to remain in the finish line / HRC precinct after this time
  • Creswick Street will be closed and blocked off to non regatta traffic. This requirement particularly applies to clubs boating from the finish line area at Hawthorn.
Friday 26 November 8pm - 6am (28/11) Boat security will be provided around the start line area
We in no way guarantee the overnight safety of your boats and equipment. A single guard will be on duty.
It would be of assistance if visitors could provide a contact mobile number to be conveyed to the security guard. Similarly, a contact number for the security guard will be provided to you.
RACE DAY

  8am - 10am Collect Race NumbersThe Race Registrar sets up in front of Mercantile Rowing Club. Those who have not collected race numbers on Friday night need to report to the Race Registrar to collect their race numbers.  A $20 fully refundable deposit is required.
  10am River closure (1 hour prior to race time) All crews must be downstream and behind the start line before the river is closed to traffic at 10am.
  11am Carnivale at finish line precinct
  • Food, drink and merchandise booths open at finish line
  • Food, drinks, merchandise and programs are on sale at the finish line until 30 min after the conclusion of presentations.
  11am First crews start at Henley Staging Judges Box
  • Melways Map 2F Ref K7
  • Men’s Open crews to start at rear of the field at approximately 3pm.
  • Course is 8.6km upstream to Bridge Rd Hawthorn. Bicycle tracks to the north & south of the river carry spectators & on-lookers.
  11.40am (Approx) First crews expected to cross finish line The first category to start / finish will be the Men’s Masters H+
  2.27pm (Approx) Womens Open crews start (3hrs 27min after race time) Mens Open will follow the Open Women at approximately 2.32pm and are the last race category to start / finish.
  2.33pm (Approx) Last crew starts A mens open crew
  3pm (Approx) Last crew finishes Calculation of race times commences which should take approximately 15 minutes
  3.20pm - 4.05pm (Approx) Presentations of winners & trophies and announcement of “Head of the Yarra”
  • Yarra Bank Reserve (off Creswick St ) Hawthorn. Melways Map 2H Ref H6
  • Commences 20 minutes after last crew finishes – 45 minute duration.
